Erin Flaherty is the Editor-in-Chief of Scent Beauty and most recently the Executive Editorial Director of Luxury Beauty for Hearst, overseeing Harper's Bazaar and Marie Claire. Known as the industry's “Indiana Jones of Beauty” because of her passion for global travel, cultural coverage, and specific fascination with the raw materials sourced for scents, Flaherty has worked as an editor and writer in the beauty industry for two decades. She began her career at Allure, and went on to become the youngest ever Beauty and Health Director at the legendary Conde Nast magazine Jane, a position she held for several years. She then went on to become a founding editor at Yahoo Shine and gained extensive digital experience, while simultaneously covering fashion, beauty, health, fitness and lifestyle subjects for The Wall Street Journal, VogueDetailsShapeNew York MagazineDominoLadies’ Home JournalMen’s FitnessPage Six Magazine, and other publications. Additionally, she has served as a blogger and editor for online platforms such as the Allure Daily Beauty Reporter, Dame, Product Fiend, The Frisky, and AOL Lemondrop, and has consulted for numerous beauty companies. She serves as a VP Content Director for Digitas and is on the board of both the New York City Ballet's annual Fall Fashion Gala and the Women's Global Empowerment Fund. She lives between NYC's Lower East Side and Woodstock, NY, and gravitates towards woodsy scents and fresh bergamot.
