Pine & Lemon: Strange Scentfellows
For many of us, pine brings
winter to mind: snowy
forests, the classic
Christmas tree.
But pine might be more
summery than you think.
Like lemon, the ultimate
bright fragrance, pine’s scent
comes from an organic
compound called a
monoterpene.
They’re what some essential
oil experts refer to as the
“sunny” components of
scent.
So lemon and pine scents,
as it turns out, are
something like chemical
siblings.
And both brighten a
fragrance like little else.
